We deal with them every day, you’re using one right now to look at this photograph, they’re a blessing and a curse all wrapped into one – love ‘em or hate ‘em, computers are everywhere

Anita Roddick was the founder of the British chain “The Body Shop”, with the aim of promoting ethical consumerism. I think this quote of hers sums up a lot about being in business.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone – this photograph reminded me so much of how all of our lives are intertwined, and that everything we say or do, no matter how small, can have an effect somewhere else…

Arthur C. Clarke was one of my favorite authors with such gems as “2001: A Space Odyssey”, “Childhood’s End”, “Rendezvous With Rama” and much more.
He is also remembered as a scientific visionary. I hope you enjoy this quote from him for today.

This was taken about 6:20pm on 19th November 2008 as the International Space Station (with shuttle Endeavor docked to it) made a great pass over the Memphis area.
This is a 30 second exposure, which means that the length of the trail left by the ISS is about 142 miles long!
This was an unusual pass in that the ISS caught a flare of the setting sun below the horizon and then faded into a coppery orange and finally a very intense dark red, before finally flying into the Earth’s shadow.
